you can´t say, wich model is the best. You have to find the right model for your needs:

Optima 5.4 is the best to camp because of it´s bathroom you can stay free.

Optima 5.1 is a mixture between camping and comfortabel when driving into a city (but you can´t buy the \"new\" T4 model, because Optima 5.1 is only built ´til 1995.

Optima 4.7 is ok to camp when you stay on an campingground. For staying free it´s not so good. But it´s the best model to use as \"normal\" PKW.

And if you search for a bus which is very good for every day use and you don´t whant to stay free when camping, you should buy an Maxivan. You can take out the backseats and the kitchenblock when you don´t need them and so you can transport all kind of things very well.

I think to buy an Diesel with over 200.000 km normally is no problem. VW told me that my TDI (102 PS/75 KW) runs over 500.000 km without problems.

My Optima 5.4 TDI 2,5 l needs betwenn 8,2 and 10,5 liter/100 km. I think you come from the Nederlands and driving there on the highway the car will take not more then 9 liters/100km because you´re not allowed to drive fast.

The \"Emissionsrate\" for my Optima 5.4 is Euro II.
