Hello everybody!

After fruitless search T3 Dehler top bunk (upstair bed - http://www.ig-dehler.de/forum/forum_entry.php?id=51985 ), I understood that it is the most wanted item on Dehler Profi, so I decided to make it myself

When I bought my Volkswagen T3 Dehler Profi, I saw only one upper berth`s unit in it...

I knew how it should be...

..And I went to the metal market and bought there four metal strips (length 160 cm, width 5 cm, thickness 5 mm). The local workers bent my strips along the contour of my berth`s unit...

And that is what I attained at that stage:

After that I decided to strengthen \"upper berth`s unit-to-be\" by webbing...

Also I welded eight metal angle bars to each end of metal strips to fasten this construction on guide tracks in my Dehler

I bought two plywoods as a basis for upper berth...

...And connected it all together!

But it`s not looked very nice. So I primed it...

and painted in tone of the cabin. Also I tinted plywoods by mahogany mordant(in the background)

And now, upper berth is ready to sleeping on it!

One idea for make good things better.
The screwing seems a little bit overdressed to me. Sorry, i wont \"talk it bad\".png" alt=":-D" />
Maybe you can use sunk screws from the under side to get a flat and safe area. On the upper side use drive in nuts (A nut which is welded on a flat area with 4 spikes at the side. In german it is called \"Einschlagmutter\" Google for tge german name and you will understand.)which you can fully sink into the wood. In the End you have a good assembly withot any parts that stand out of the konstruktion. Even then its possyble to get some leather or so on the complete area for the absolut look.
